Anyone gone back to OU after a break?

I did a Level 1 course last year, then decided to take time off because my DS was starting school, and I also had some part-time freelance work lined up, so decided not to be too stressed. Now I don't know whether to keep going?
I am signed up for a psychology degree, so the next course would be Intro to Psych. Anyone doing it/done it? Was it interesting or just a slog (I found the Intro to Social Sciences harder than expected, although i got a good mark - maybe I am too much of a perfectionist???)
I feel bad if I don't do my best, but then is there anything wrong with just putting in the bare minimum?
I did have illusions that I'd do a psychology degree as a route towards a new career (counselling, psychologist) but i've realised that it's going to take a bloody long time and perhaps I should concentrate my efforts on working in something I can already do so my poor DH doesn't have to do it all.
I am, as you can tell, very good at procrastinating

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes, I've done this. I did a level 1 5 years ago followed by a level 2 the next year. Then I had a year off , then did another level 2 the following year. This year I am not studying but can't wait to start my next course in Feb.

The gaps for me have been due to the fact that i needed to increase my working hours (financial reasons) and it has been ideal even though I would have liked to study straight through. I am now hoping to do 3 courses in the next 4 years, to finish my degree.

I am doing social science courses too although not psychology. The level 2s do obviously require more time and effort and I do tend to have panic phases when the tMAs are due in but have managed well so far. My children are older though so when i have to buckle down the weekend before the TMA is due they can survive without me around all the time!

Polly, you sound pretty dedicated. What do you plan to do with it at the end. Change of career?

Yes i'm hoping to make myself as employable as possible! I live abroad but there is a possibility of me coming back to the UK in 4 years time.
