Help - what detergent won't build up in my pocket nappies

Been having a detergent buildup nightmare with my bumgenius V2 and fluffles.

I now have leaking nappies, repelling fleece etc. etc. The washing machine is on constant a rinse cycle at the moment to try and solve it and it's driving me mad.

Anyway I'm looking for a detergent that won't do build up in the hard London water. I've been using Ecover (about half a cap), but have heard that natural based detergents like this can build up in hard water.

Anyone got any alternatives - all the info. I can find seem to be on detergents that are only available int he US!

BTW bumgenius caution against using vinegar or baking soda, so can't even do the vinegar in the final rinse solution.

ecover plus oxiclean (from lakeland) and no fabric conditioner.
OR soap nuts and no fabric conditioner.
Use the "extra rinse" option on your machine if you have one.
I am super sensitive to detergents and fabric conditioners bring me out in hives but I have never had a problem with the produvts I have just mentioned.

no fabric softener, do you guys find no build up on pocket nappies, I didn't notice a problem until I started with the bumgenius.

Could ofcourse just be that my washing machine is giving out!

I use soapnuts and think they are great for nappies.

soapnuts, hmm yes had heard good things about them.

Do you just use the nuts or make a liquid soap from them.

If you use the nuts do you have to take them about before the rise?

You just put a few of the shells in a little bag (either a cotton bag or the end of an old pair of tights...something you can tie a knot in)

You just leave them in for the whole wash. You can use the same ones for a few washes then either compost them or make liquid soap from them (or lots of other things...car windscreen cleaner and things)

Ok have ordered soapnuts...so here's hoping
