How do you discipline your kids?

I have two sons and their behaviour at the moment is shocking. They don't listen to me or their dad, they are constantly fighting and nothing I seem to do to discipline them is working. I've tried taking away electronics. I've tried stopping them from doing fun things but nothing is working. I'm completely at my wits and I feel like I'm going to explode. They are constantly fighting with each other and nothing I can do or make them stop. I feel like I'm failing. my six-year-old constantly answers me back and hasn't answer for everything.

Sounds like you're really struggling.

How old is your other DS and how are they at school?

They are 4 & 6. I just feel like I've not got any control over them. They fight like constantly which I know is normal for siblings but it's out of control. I have tried taking away things from them but they don't care they will carry on.

At 4 and 6 they don’t need electronics so make taking them away permanent. They are probably badly behaved due to being over stimulated by nasty addictive gadgets.
You’re not failing. You just need to remain in charge. Give them attention and praise for good behavior.
Are they naughty at school/daycare? Is it just with you or others too?

I’d completely remove any electronic devices for a very long time to start with. Not as a punishment but simply to allow them a screen free childhood for as long as you can.
What do they like doing?

I'd agree with the last 2 posts.

I think there needs to be a warning, and then you carry out whatever you warned. Usually they get removed from the situation. The more you do it, the easier it becomes, because the know you will do whatever it is you say you will.
I also agree with really praising the positives. It sounds a bit false to begin with, but stick at it.

I'm not a fan of electronics at all. My four year old doesn't have electronics but my 6 year old does have a Nintendo switch. They are both very energetic kids and we spend a lot of time outdoors but when we have to spend the day mainly to catch up on housework it's like they purposely will cause havoc and enjoy seeing how far they can push me. It's really tiring. I don't want to spend ours days with me feeling like I'm constantly nagging it's draining.

what about a book like calmer easier happier parenting?

my kids are younger, but I’m reading it and it’s quite practical.

If you're doing housework can you set things up for them? So if you're cleaning the kitchen can you sit them down with some playdough for half an hour? If you're doing the living room give them a snack and put the tv on for a little while?
