What does your 10 month baby eat and how much?

Hi All 🙂

I just wondered what kind of meals or food do people give their 10 month old baby's? How roughly how much per meal? My 10 month old is having a mixture of the Ella's Kitchen pouches and solids. If anyone could share any of their meal or food ideas that would be great 🙂

Hi @WhatchaSayyyyy for breakfast my DD who is 9 months usually has a small baby bowl of porridge made with whole milk with fruit puree or a slice of whole meal bread with the crusts cut off with cream cheese and then usually some fruit finger food, such as pear or banana. For lunch it’s usually leftovers from the night before or scrambled eggs (one egg and one tablespoon of whole milk) with a slice of whole meal bread and butter with veg finger food, such as cucumber sticks. For dinner, she has what we’re having (about the same amount as is in a pouch) packed with veg or with veg on the side but I just don’t add any salt when cooking and just add it to mine if needed afterwards. Things such as spag bol, chicken korma, chicken fried rice, chicken paella, mac n cheese to name a few. Some of the things I blend to a lumpy consistency if neeeded. I’d recommend just giving them what you’re eating as it takes the faff out of it. If needed, look up some recipes of what you like and make that minus the salt 🙂

Hi there! For a 10-month-old, you can offer a mix of soft, finger foods and purees. You might try small, mashed or finely chopped pieces of cooked vegetables like sweet potatoes, carrots, and peas. Soft fruits like bananas, avocados, and cooked apples or pears are great too. Small pieces of soft cheese, scrambled eggs, or well-cooked pasta can be good protein sources. For portion sizes, about 2-4 tablespoons of each food is a good start. Just remember to adjust based on your baby's appetite and ensure everything is cut into small, manageable pieces to avoid choking.

Just fed what we were having. He didn't eat a huge amount and was still breastfeeding. Lots of exploring and playing with food.

He ate what we ate for the most part, unsalted and served in the best way to minimise choking risk (solid starts app was very helpful). A stick blender is handy to make meals like bolognese, chillis, curries etc into a smoother consistency for their portion.

Breakfast was usually porridge, toast with butter or peanut butter, avocado, scrambled egg, yoghurt, etc. I can't recall how much was eaten, it was just put on the table and baby ate what they wanted. Most ends up on them or on the floor but the exploring and tasting is all that matters.
