Is it possible for 9MO not to catch chickenpox??

My 21MO caught chickenpox whilst at nursery and first showed symptoms 3 weeks ago. I leant into it, accepting that our 9MO would also get it with me being the only care giver most of the day and not needing the stress of trying to keep them apart! However, here we are 3 weeks later and my littlest has shown no signs at all of chickenpox, despite sharing baths/paddling pools, having lots of heavy cuddles from his brother, him touching his brothers face etc…I don’t get it?! Has he dodged it, or is it at all possible to have it and appear asymptomatic (I don’t think so, but I’m stumped!)

Yes possible, same happened me when I was about 4 my sibling got them but I never did. I got them a few years later.

One daughter got it the other didn't catch it.

Are you breastfeeding?
My DS got four spots and wasn't ill at all despite it sweeping through the play group. He benefitted from my immunity.
I'd had it really quite badly as a child.

Yes dd2 goes to nursery and last year they all had it but she didn't. This year she caught it and literally know no one that had it 🤷🏻‍♀️ it's possible

It’s possible, my daughter totally managed to dodge chicken pox until reception (there had been at least 2 exposures at playgroup/nursery) and she very kindly shared it with her 10 month old db.

My sister dodged chicken pox until 16 when she became immunocompromised and had a number of back to back illnesses

It is also possible to get such a low infection there's no notable symptoms, yes.
