Is my baby teething?

Hi! First post here.

My baby girl is 14 weeks old and is drooling, hand in mouth, feeding less and appears to be in some discomfort.

I think she is teething but just want some advice - I’ve done the ‘tik tok’ glass trend and think I can see two bumps for her teeth? I’d appreciate any advice on this if you think she is teething!

Thank you.

That isn't a real glass is it?!

Yes - a clean glass pressed gently against gums for a few seconds.

Please don't do this! It would only take a second to chomp down on a weakened area for a really nasty cut.

Seriously, just gently pull your baby's lip down or up and you'll be able to see little white bumps just as easily. It can take several weeks for the teeth to actually erupt, and they may disappear again before/after erupting.

Thanks I’m aware of the risks hence why I thoroughly checked glass for any weakened areas such as cracks or thinning of the glass. This method had been recommended on a number of parenting pages and when instructions are followed it is safe to do so for a couple of seconds.

Thank you so much!

That would be great thanks - we have a few teethers but she can't really hold on very well yet to them to keep them in her mouth. Hoping she starts to feel a bit better soon - horrible seeing her uncomfortable🤞🏽

You do not put glass in a baby’s mouth. What parenting sites advise this? You can’t always see weaknesses in glass and a baby’s chomp can be hard irrespective of teeth.

im not sure TikTok is a valid site of info
