To use fabulosa on newborn baby toys?

Trying to get ready for baby number 2 so have been sorting through newborn toys. Got them out to clean today and the ones with batteries that I couldn’t put in the washing machine I sprayed with fabulosa… now I’m thinking that was probably really stupid because the baby will put them in his mouth? Am I being over anxious? If not then I guess I’d have to throw them away now as I still can’t put them in the washing machine to wash it off.

I wouldn’t use it on toys especially for a newborn

GanninHyem · 13/08/2024 17:08

No, I wouldn't use on anything a child could put in their mouths. What material are the toys? Hard plastic can surely just be washed with a damp cloth? Even soft toys I would have thought by the time baby is here it would have broken down enough to be safe.

No I wouldn't have done that.

Don't bin them. You will be able to clean them.

What type of items are they? Can you wipe them with a cloth you have dampened in dilute Milton?

Peaplant20 · 13/08/2024 17:33

They are mostly the type of item that has both hard and soft parts! So for example we have one of those silly cactus toys that copies what noise you make, a Lamaze flower toy that has a hard part in the middle and then soft petals that light up etc. so I couldn’t put them in the machine as electrical but can’t just wipe with a baby Milton wipe as they’ve got soft bits 🙈

Oh and I didn’t want to sponge them as worried water would get into the electrical bits?

Id use an antibacterial wipe both on the soft and hard surfaces. Maybe I'm wrong? But that's what I'd do.

Remove the batteries if you can and then rinse with cold water and milton

Thanks all. I get quite anxious and never sure when I’m overthinking or not! Have sponged them down so think they will be ok now.
