Baby refusing breast

Hello, first time mum in need of help.
My exclusively breastfed 2 month old won't feed unless it's on sling and after I have walked and soothed her loudly. It's been going on for 3rd week now.
My baby started being extremely fussy and crying at the breast and she would turn away and look at different things around the room. She would cry so so much and not feed.
She would do this in the evenings some times but now it is all day.
I figured out she will feed on the sling after a lot of soothing, singing etc.
So she wakes up in the morning , I will play with her and then put her on sling and she will cry and resist feeding even though eating her whole fist. She will then finally feed after lots of singing. She will only fall asleep once she's had a good feed. Through advice from La lache and infant feeding team they suggested a dark quiet room, but that has not helped during the day. She will feed at 6pm in a dark quiet room only after being latched on sling and then go to sleep.
The last few nights have been fine but tonight she was even resisting feeds overnight and come 5am when she could see her surroundings she started her behaviour of resisting feeds and crying.
They suggested feeding when drowsy which I do when she's on the sling during the day.
This is affecting me so much as seeing her cry, resisting feeding when she would feed so well. We can't go out any more as she won't feed in the car and it's a mission to get her in and our of sling and stick my boob out when she's on the sling etc in public as she hates having a cloth around her. Further, it feels like my husband can't help me at all even when exhausted. The infant feeding advised maybe it's an oversupply and to try block feeding which I tried but that hasn't helped. I feel she is just distracted and hates feeding and can't focus when she wants to just look around.
Has anyone had this before?
What has helped?
What else could I do to resolve this?
How long does this last?
I don't pump or anything.
I have to travel with her to get her passport and that's a plane journey, we can't even manage a car journey! Any tips to manage?
Also they suggested switching positions which I have tried but doesn't help. Laid back position is best for distractible babies which is the position I feed in.

My daughter was like this she ended up on 5-10second feeds totally no more than 1-2 minutes between 8am and 8pm, she said a bit better overnight. For her it was caused by severe silent reflux and multiple food allergies. Once both were treated she improved loads.
There was one particularly dark day when I could only feed her with skin to skin and after a bath together to calm her down so I fed her with us both naked on the bathroom floor!

Im sorry you had to go through that. My baby will feed for 20 mins once I've done the singing and walking on sling. And she feeds well overnight too. So I'm not sure it's reflux? She does refuse the feeds, hiccup, and spit up lot. But no noisy breathing or back arching and sleeps on her back at night.

Hiccups and spit up would be signs of reflux.

Not reflux, went to Gp to double check. Most likely she's just distractible

How exactly has the gp determined its not reflux when she has classic reflux symptoms - hiccups, spit up, prefers feeding upright?

Why do they think it's not?

WonderingWanda · 19/08/2024 09:29

How do her gums look? Could she have an early tooth coming?

Silent reflux has very few symptoms and can only be ruled out by trying medication. My daughters only responded to the highest doses of medication. Hers was partially caused by food allergies again no obvious symptoms but responded well to me removing foods from my diet. Both her silent reflux and food allergies were missed by the GP for 3 months and at least 6 appointments. The GP was only treating her mild actual reflux.

Yet another advert for something which is way out of most people’s budget.
