Constant cough & congestion DD 4m

Basically as the title says my DD is 4 months old and has had congestion and a cough from birth. Initially it was put down to her being born via C-section then at her 8 week vaccines they said maybe an underdeveloped wind pipe and it would clear by 12 weeks.. still no improvement. I went to GP this week and they said they are unsure and listened to her chest and said it is clear and it sounds more upper - however her cough does sound "wet". She is quite a sicky baby and brings up little mouthfuls of milk for an hour or so after her bottles still I suggested reflux cough or maybe a milk allergy to gp but they said no they didn't think so as her reflux isn't severe enough and if it was cmpa she would have more symptoms. My older son has cmpa and to be fair he did skin and tummy problems no cough.
We've been referred to the hospital to chat it through but I've just received a letter to say the waiting time is 24 weeks Shock
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar with their DC?

Silent reflux can cause coughs as the throat gets irritated when the milk goes up and down.
Asthma can also cause coughs, when my daughter went through a coughing phase her paediatrician listened to her chest for signs of asthma but concluded it was probably her reflux and allergies.

Are they formula or breastfeed? You could buy a tin of hydrolysed formula or do a trial of you going dairy free. Is going private an option? We had a one off appointment when struggling with my daughters reflux and allergies. We weren't making much progress with the GP and it was a long wait to see the paediatrician although shorter than 26 weeks! He found us a formula she could have as a coconut allergy eliminated most of them and put her on another reflux med which could only be prescribed by a paediatrician. We managed to get into the NHS paeds for the follow up and he agreed to continue the treatment plan so we didn't see the private guy again. The GP did manage to bring the paeds forward a few months with some hassling and if you get the secretaries number you can get on the cancellation list although these are sometimes very short notice. We had one that would have been in 30 minutes but we wouldn't have been able to get her from nursery and get to the hospital in that time
