Compact pram

Hello

i think I may be looking for a unicorn. I need pram recommendations for our baby. Just coming up to a month old. She is our second. First is now 4.5years so way out of buggy/pram time.
we are currently using our old silver cross pioneer travel system which I never loved with our first. We had the Joie mytrax from when he was 12 months which I preferred and plan to use when she is bigger. Anyway we are struggling with the amount of room the silver cross takes up in the car. Particularly now we have two. We are going to be doing quite a bit of travel soon, including flying to see family a couple of times this year so need something more compact to keep in the car. We kind of want it as a second everyday pram if that makes sense for when we go out as a family in the car- mainly urban stuff as if we are going walking atm I prefer to use the carrier. I’ve looked at a lot of the cabin approved ones but the main concern is that I am quite tall 5’11. Husband is same height so height of the handle bar is a concern. The only one I’ve seen is the ergobaby metro. I’m not fixed on it being cabin approved as happy to put in the hold, just more compact to save room in our boot. Problem is there is nowhere close by where I can see the metro in person (others less of a problem as seem to be stocked more).

  1. can anybody recommend a good compact buggy for a taller parent?
  2. Anyone have the ergobaby and recommend it?
  3. is there a way I can order it, try it at home (obviously not take it anywhere, just literally push it at home) and return if I hate it?

I’m just wanting to get something that works well for us as our silver cross is so hated by us both! Sorry for the long ramblings- sleep deprivation is a killer!

Cosatto fits in our car much better than icandy, is narrower, lighter and nicer design too. It’s a pram though and not cabin hand luggage foldable though.

There is the pockit all terrain which is ridiculously compact but can't remember if it suitable for a baby so small. It is small enough that you could take it on flights as a hand luggage.

I really rate the Baby jogger city mini for ease of use. It's compact, lies flat, pushes beautifully, folds really easily (one handed) and its handle was tall enough for 6'1" DH.

It's forward facing only but it's by far the best pushchair I've had.

Hadn’t looked at that. While mainly it will be used in urban areas, what is it like to push say across grass for picnics?

Joolz aer + with pram attachment. Its light weight, one handed fold and the pram folds with the pushchair. Will fit in my tiny mini.
The only reason I chose not to get the newborn attachment is that I'm getting a lie flat car seat anyway. So if I use that on the Joolz aer there's no point for me getting the pram bit.

@Teddybear120 If the grass isn't unbelievably lumpy or long it should be fine. Wheels aren't huge but are a reasonable size with a small amount of suspension. We took ours to Italy and it handled very cobbled streets (Pompeii) and being bumped up and down steps really well. Admittedly DS was 2 rather than newborn but I believe you can get a newborn pack that makes it more snug.
It's definitely worth a look at if you can find one nearby.

We LOVE our Graco Myavo! It's not as well known as some of the others but it's brilliant. It's 2 years old now, still going strong for baby number 2. The big bonus is that it lies flat so suitable for a newborn. Easy to clean. Folds small. Really light. DH is 6ft1 and pushes it no problem. Good suspension ok the wheels. It's been to multiple European cities (Florence/Tuscany, Prague, Barcelona!) and was brilliant.
Oh and unlike some of the other ones, the seat is really nice and wide so they actually have space to move when they're laying down which looked more comfy. We hired a Yo-yo for a Holiday once and agreed we preferred our Myavo 😊

Another vote for the Joolz Aer. Very compact and easy to fold. Fine on grass. I am also tall at 5.10 and no issues.
