Child Benefit

So sorry if this has been asked lots of times but just wondering if anyone knows the answer- the gov.uk website seems suitably vague.
my DS is 15 and I’ve been a single parent with his father having no contact at all. I’ve been claiming child benefit (so far so good). My partner now lives with us but doesn’t contribute to my son but is a higher rate tax payer. Does this mean that he has to pay the higher rate charge/ me lose my child benefit? Has anyone been in this situation please?

Yes, he'd be responsible for paying some or all of it back depending how much he gets paid. Start to pay back at £60K and all to be paid back at £80k
