Newborn sleeping in a bouncy chair - is this not good for him?

2 week old DS likes to be bounced to sleep in his chair - but then looks quite squished in it. Should I pick him up and put him in the moses basket?
Occasionally he's fallen asleep on my lap though curled up on his tummy which I've not worried about - am I being paranoid? (he's a PFB in case you can't tell!)

Mine often had naps in their bouncy chair at this age - never for long enough though! What kind of chair is it - the thicker padded seats are probably more comfy...

Mine wouldn't settle anywhere else for the first 3 weeks and I was worried so I asked the osteopath if it was doing any damage. It's not ideal if it's both day and night but it's ok as long as it doesn't continue for weeks and weeks. It seems to me that a lot of newborns don't like lying flat out on their back. Nor do they like having too much open space around them. I think that's why they like being 'squished'.

Newborns look squished wherever they are.

Dd2 would only sleep in her chair (even at night) , we had a padded chair that lyed flat. Shes 2 now and is fine.

I think as long as the chair is suitable for newborns it shouldn't be an issue, some chairs are not suitable at that age as they don't support them well enough, but if they do, napping in them is fine.
