3.5 month old in stroller?

Hi all!

I am going abroad next week with my 3.5 month old who absolutely hates the bassinet on her pram (she has serious FOMO!)

I see that Nuna make a very lightweight travel stroller called the Triv and this has a very low incline setting that looks almost horizontal - maybe 20 degrees above flat.

My question is - would my little girl be safe to sit in that, even though technically it's 6 months plus? She has very good head control already.

Many thanks for any advice!

Lena

No it would be uncomfortable and unsafe she will be could be too light and bump about.

These strollers are for sitting babies ideally .

Both of mine never used the carry cot and was in the pushchair by about 15 weeks old. Even if they don’t have great head control you can have the buggy reclined in the sleeping position so that they’re comfortable.

Sorry forgot to add, I wouldn’t buy a whole £600 pram just for a holiday though. What pram do you currently have?

We used a Nuna at that age. Baby didn't have to sit in it. Can't recall it's name but I wouldn't worry. Your baby will do fine.

Not good for her back. Far too young, sorry.

FuzzyStripes · 30/07/2024 20:12

Does she have reflux? Is that the issue because she is too young to have FOMO.

The blurb I just read on the Triv next says it has a full recline position suitable for newborns/

£600 for a holiday stroller!

That's madness

jalsjen · 30/07/2024 22:03

I used a lie flat stroller from birth, not the Nuna Triv but it had a full recline position suitable from birth. It was fine, dcs are primary age now and I'm sure if any damage had been done it would be apparent by now.

Have a look at the cybex coya instead. Its a travel stroller that is suitable from birth as it lies fully flat - i looked at it when looking for our travel stroller and really liked it. It also folds really small for cabin baggage. (Although i bought something else in the end as DD was already 6months + so didnt need to pay the premium for from birth).

Thanks all, I will just bring my regular pram with bassinet after all and look into strollers when she is closer to 6 months!

We had a Ergobaby metro plus for a holiday abroad but ds was 7months (5.5m corrected). He wasn’t properly sitting up by then, we used it fully reclined for naps, and briefly sat up. It’s usable from birth. We still use it on occasion now he’s 16 months old, mostly for city/shopping walks with smoother paths.
