Best Mate's Kid Left A Turd In My Garden

I don't know how to go about this unusual dilemma.
Best mate's daughter was round for a play date yesterday. This morning my son found a massive turd in our back garden. It was definitely a human turd. Obviously I don't know exactly where it came from but my friend's daughter has problems with her bowel movements. She holds it in for about a week and then it just comes out. She's nearly 6 and still does most of her poos in her pants. It's not a good situation and I know they are struggling with it. When she was round yesterday I thought I could smell something but I did ask if she wanted to go to the loo and she kept saying no. I didn't know what else to do as I can't really just start looking in her pants. She had shorts on so I'm assuming she just went outside and kind of shook it out of her pants and left it on the lawn for me to step in the next morning.
My husband is saying that we have to tell them what's happened. I really don't know if I should just let it go or say something about it. Such a strange situation to be in! What do I do???

The child is 5, I would let it go. I doubt she did it deliberately if it was her.

Bit early in the day for the poo troll 🙄

Ukholidaysaregreat · 30/07/2024 19:50

Chuck it down the toilet. Job done.

Tigertigertigertiger · 30/07/2024 19:50

Why should you tell them?

That's a good metaphor for life in general!

Best mate? I'd have a right giggle, on the phone with 'you'll never guess what'!!! Why the angst?

SeulementUneFois · 30/07/2024 20:05

Definitely tell them!
I presume the mum would be mortified at it happening, and would want to have cleaned it herself. (Or start teaching her kid to clean it herself.)

Toothpastestain · 30/07/2024 20:09

I'd tell her, especially if they have poo problems, otherwise Mum might think child hasn't pooed for days?

C1N1C · 30/07/2024 20:12

Pick it up
Dig a hole
Plant it
Keep it watered
Wait six months

Harvest yourself a nice juicy Prime Minister :)

Wheredidyougetthat · 30/07/2024 20:20

I was going to say don’t say anything but if she withholds then it would be helpful for them to know. Could you say something like ‘I know this sounds really odd but has (friend) done a poo recently because if I’m not mistaken there was human poo on the lawn after their play date.’

What has it being the school holidays got to do with anything? Confused

Do you think the OP is a teacher?

EmmaGrundyForPM · 30/07/2024 20:27

@HeySummerWhereAreYou you know exactly what it means.

PattyDuckface · 30/07/2024 22:14

Encopresis is a really tough and serious condition for kids and parents, it's not something superficial to laugh about or ignore.

A very large stool from a young child happens when the colon has been stretched by blocked stool.

I would tell the parents as they are likely monitoring the bowl movements and need to know what is happening if they are on a medical protocol to clear the bowel.

Bowel not bowl
