21 month old entitlement to childcare

Morning :)
I am thinking about putting my 21 month old into nursery or with a childminder for 1 day per week - could someone tell me how many hours they will be entitled to?

Thanks

No funded hours at the moment, but from September they will be entitled to the 15 funded hours. Don't assume you'll be able to have a full day with the funded hours though, more likely you'll have to use the hours over 3 days and have shorter days or something like that as it's up to the nursery or childminder how you're allowed to use your hours, there's likely to be a top up fee to pay too which is why it's 'funded' not 'free'. Just bare in mind as well that spaces will be filling up fast for September.

Good morning!

For a 21-month-old, the entitlement to free nursery hours or hours with a childminder can vary based on your location and specific circumstances. Generally, free childcare entitlements are more commonly available for children aged 3 and above. However, some areas might offer support for younger children, particularly if you meet certain criteria, such as being eligible for specific benefits or working a minimum number of hours.

It's best to check with your local council or childcare provider for the most accurate and up-to-date information. They can guide you on the available options and any entitlements you might qualify for.

Ive spoken to my local nursery who have said hes eligible for 15 hours per week but spread over the full year which equates to 11 hours per week and he could either do a full day or 2 half days - there is a consumables charge of £7 per half day - so that seems good !
