Flying whilst pregnant

I'm going on holiday with Jet2 and I asked my GP about getting a letter to say I was safe to fly and she didn't know what I was talking about, she said she'd look into it for me then just sent an nhs link via text to their website which I'd already read

I'm feeling quite worried about it

Surely lots of women go on holiday pregnant?

I will be 27 weeks pregnant, but no way of proving how far along I am

Don’t you have a letter showing your due date? What do you show work for getting maternity leave?

A lot of midwives and GPs wont sign it as it can impact their insurance.

You’re best off paying for a private GP appointment and Jet2 have their own form that they need to sign and stamp.

Take a copy of your MatB1?

You won’t need a fit to fly letter at 27 weeks. It’s only in later weeks when the airline wants to be sure you won’t go into labour in the sky.

You don’t need one at 27 weeks but carry your notes in your hand luggage

Jet2 policy is to supply a fit to fly note from the end of the 27th week of pregnancy.

You might need to pay for a private appointment
