Hair removal cream for 9 year old

Hi, could I have your recommendations for the best hair removal creams for my daughter. I was hoping to stick with creams rather than shaving for now. Used the superdrug own brand one for the maximum time and it's very patchy. What does everyone else use. She's 9 if that makes a difference. Thanks

Is this lip hair? Or leg hair?

I didn’t use any on DD at that age but she has sensitive skin and prone to eczema so I suppose you might consider this the same as for younger age. She started using later in her teens and always used Veet for sensitive skin ( a patch test beforehand).
sorry forgot to add that it’s for underarms, legs and bikini line.

Creams can be very irritating for young delicate skin. Could you try waxing? I think a razor would be kinder to the skin than cream.

It's just for leg hair at the moment. I will use a razor on the patchy bits for her before she goes on holiday. I've never done waxing so wouldn't feel confident to wax her I don't think. Maybe I'll try the veet next.

We did a 24 hour patch test first and no reaction. Her skin isn't sensitive luckily. It just didn't do a good job removing the hair.

my daughter used nair sensitive teen remover at first. It comes with a razor style (plastic not blades though) remover to get them used to the motion!

No way would I use creams on young skin. Lady shave so she can do it herself. Safe and quick.

Shes 9. Cant she stay a child for a bit longer?

Yes, she's absolutely staying a child. For the next 9 years.

Battery operated shaver, quick and easy to use on legs and no risk of cutting her skin or getting a rash. Use a moisturising lotion afterwards if necessary, like Simple or similar.

My son uses the nair sensitive (swimmers remove hair before big comps 😂)

It applies well if you buy a silicone spatula (don't cook with it after 😂)

Why do you want to remove the hair? Everyone starts to grow leg hair in puberty. We're mammals. Why do you want to pretend that she's not going through puberty?

Well it's not a problem for her skin, it just wasn't a very successful hair removal. I've never tried a lady shave. Are they good? Is there a particular one that's best?

IMO, they aren’t that good. If (like me) you have dark hair/pale skin combo. I had one, they’re relatively cheap and quick and no risk of cuts. I had to shave every day though. I just use normal razors now.

What makes you think I'm pretending anything or that I even want to remove the hair? I think she's perfect as she is. She is very dark haired and it's quite thick on her legs. She doesn't like it. She wishes she didn't have it, she asked if she could shave and i wasnt comfortable with that. But I'm going to help her remove it so she can feel better. In the easiest gentlest safest way possible. She also didn't start growing leg hair in puberty, it's been like this since she was about 4.

Why don't you use a lady shaver?

Couldn't find a cream that worked perfectly. DD uses razors or a mini shaver thing like in the pic. She doesn't do it often though , so I don't know how they are for frequent use.

Thank you, I think it might be worth the investment. Safer than shaving and I'd guess less painful than waxing. Saves trying lots of different creams and risking a reaction too.

If she’s feeling self conscious then you’re doing the right thing in helping her remove it safely. Societal pressure is what it is and forcing a 9YO to feel uncomfortable in their summer shorts or swimsuit, which I’m guessing is where this has come from, isn’t going to change the realities of the world we live in. The alternative is probably that she steals your razor and does some real damage. I’d try the normal Veet, leave it on the max time, obviously patch test it first. Failing an electric lady shaver is a good shout, not the closest shave ever but likely sufficient at her age and most importantly she can’t cut herself. Snow white complexion here so hair was very obvious and I used to do my legs and armpits with an electric shaver for ballet at her age. Promise it didn’t end my childhood!

Ds started shaving at 8. She was a ballet dancer so legs very much on display. Lots of very judgemental people here. Shaving your legs is not equal to dressing in mini skirts, slapping on the make up and going to a club.

Ds was self conscious so I bought her descent razors and shaving foam and showed her how to do it. She shaved for ballet events but not in-between (her choice). After she gave up ballet she stopped shaving altogether until she started secondary school and had to wear shorts for pe. Now age 14 she shaves semi regularly and is still a child.
