4 yo very limited diet

My 4yo has always been 'fussy' he wasn't up until the age of about one but ever since he's been quite bad.
Currently he will eat Wheatbix, toast, sandwiches (ham, cheese, chicken, tuna), pizza, chips and chicken nuggets sometimes. Maybe a fish finger. He will also eat spag bol (but not the pasta garlic bread), chilli and meatballs. He will also eat snacks yougut, crisps, cheese and crackers etc
I often do homemade pizza with veg in,and sneak veg in chilli etc. But other than that he will not touch any fruit or veg.
He starts school in Sep and I'm starting to get really worried he's not going to eat anything.
I think it's more than just being fussy as he gags. He had a bad egg allergy and she once had a bad reaction when he was about 1. He got fussy around the same time.
Could it be related? Any help or advice would be massively appreciated starting to worry!

My four year old is similar - actually probably eats less. I just let him get on with it and he's gradually getting better at trying new things. He has a packed lunch at school as I'd prefer to know that he's eating something rather than not trying what's for lunch and I know that the staff don't have time to try and sit with him.

According to DM, all I ate as a small child was ham sandwiches, ham and mashed potato, toast scrambled egg and chocolate pretty much until I was about 10. I'm still alive at 65, and will eat pretty much anything.

I’d consider that a really expansive diet tbh!l

In contrast, my DC’s limited diet consists solely of two types of cereal, white bread and banana! That’s it!

I’ve spoken with primary school ahead of starting in Sept and they said ‘oh we’ve seen it all before’ and you’ll be surprised what they may start seeing when they see others around them doing it so 🙏🏻

Has he gone to nursery? DS1 has a very limited diet at home, but with peer pressure is slightly better with eating at school.

He's now 5 and as he's got older we've managed to engage him more in the idea that there's things he needs to eat to be healthy, so he'll now eat tomatoes and peppers.

I don't actually think your DS is that bad? My standards are very low admittedly, but the fact you can get veg into him is a good thing. DS1 also doesn't mind having a very repetitive diet, so in your position I'd just make the chilli and Bolognese a very frequent staple.

Okay well this all makes me feel a bit better! He goes to a childminder but he takes a pack lunch in so a sandwich, yoghurt etc.

I am hoping he might eat more at school, but not convinced!

And there was me worrying about my 22mo being ridiculously fussy😅 maybe I should relax a bit 😁
