gorgeous nappies for a bum shuffler - what's good?

DS is a year old and a bum shuffler.
We've been using cloth right from the start (a mixture, but liking the motherease onesize best of the bunch). Because I got them on freecycle, we've hardly spent anything on nappies so far, and I've just got my council voucher for £55, and I want to spend it on some 'treat' nappies.

I think I'd like to get AIOs/pocket nappies, as I like the idea of having a few nappies that are a bit trimmer, so that he can sometimes wear more fitted clothes. I also live in hope of persuading the childminder into cloth, but that so far seems to be a losing battle...

What do you recommend? So far I'm kind of smitten with the itti bitti d'lish from Twinkle Twinkle.

Any lovely ideas? I'd like to get something that people who don't use cloth will envy, if you see what I mean!

Wee Notions!!!! Some gorgeous pockets from them, and you can get them all customised etc.

If you want to order through me (see the bumfluff advert in the small business section) I don't have embroidery options listed, but they can be done, just email me and we can get it sorted

I have a feeling that nappyzone has, argh, name escapes me, but good designs pockets anyway

Berry plush always get a comment (esp the leopard print) and flame sells em too. Flame, whilst you're here are weenotions wraps good for day and night?

Nappyzone · 13/04/2008 19:26

I have oodles of gorgeously scrummy pockets but the most lovely reliable and strokeable ones i have are greenkids onesize minkytimes and they are releasing a zebra and giraffe print tomorrow seen as though you asked....

I love the berry plush, but they aren't desperately slim

Wee Notions wraps are great for either. Pockets I would stick to just daytime use though.

Thanks, Flame, I was thinking I needed another night wrap but one that's a bit more exciting

Giraffe print sounds gorgeous nappyzone! [must not buy more nappies, aq repeats to herself...]

I have a weenotion wrap and its lovely - the bindings are so soft and it goes up quite high so ideal for my long bodied boy.

oh, the weenotions ones are lovely! I'd not seen them before. off to have a look at the other suggestions too (back tomorrow now, I think)

Only thing is, I need to have a look at the info sheet that comes with my voucher and see if i can get them through that - it's the Real Nappies for London voucher.

I had been warned that the one-piece nappies weren't a great idea for a shuffler, as they can get a bit rucked up (and worn out) - do you agree?

oh why did i come and ask here and find all those lovely things and then realise that my wretched voucher thing can't be used at your shops...

anyway though I think snap-in all in ones are what I'm after, and there are some lovely ones.

this voucher thing is a pain, they used to work it by refunding you for what you'd spent, which meant that you could buy second-hand, or from little places, but now it's an up-front voucher, so you can only buy from folk that will take it. Hiss.

Oh arse - I have all the forms sat here to fill in to accept them

littlefrog · 14/04/2008 08:48

well, i'm not in any gigantic rush, how long do you think it would take before you can accept them?
i'd much rather buy from someone 'small', I hate the way all these schemes tend to push you towards buying from bigger places.

I have to flame lol but am so slack - tbh your the first person who has ever approached and asked if i accept them! I wont get it done this month !

Flamesparrow · 14/04/2008 10:05

Lemme look at the forms... 'ang on

Flamesparrow · 14/04/2008 10:11

Well, have just realised that my forms expired at the end of March, so have emailed for more. By the time they reach them in the post, it could be a fortnight before they have added me.

Tis entirely up to you I need to do it anyway

Nappyzone · 14/04/2008 13:44

oh dear pmsl - guess i will be in the same boat then!

Flame - perhaps we spend to much time on Mumsnet !!!

littlefrog · 14/04/2008 20:11

flame if it won't be crazily long then I'll wait!

It's really sad that so few people take these vouchers up. there was a scandal about this here, because the council wanted to cancel the scheme, as I think only 250 people had claimed their voucher in 2 or 3 years (long time, anyway); and then when they worked out how much it was costing them per tonne of waste diverted from landfill it was insanely expensive, as the voucher scheme has a big overhead cost. I've tried to persuade friends into cloth - only one success...
