Baby up every hour in own room, any suggestions?

My baby has just turned 6 months old and I have moved her into her own room as she’s learnt to pull herself up on the next to me and can crawl out of our bed so it’s unsafe for her to be in here anymore . She has never been a particularly good sleeper but had started sleeping through 9-6 for a few weeks then we both had a cold so was up frequently coughing but was still easy to get back to sleep by putting her dummy in . She then decided overnight she could pull herself up so i have had to move her into her own room and cot but she hates it. This is the 4th day now and it’s has been taken 2 hours to get her down then she’s up every hour crying in bits, I try leave her for a few minutes but it gradually gets worse and never better then it takes ages to settle her again. She does have all her day time naps in there and is fine with that. Any suggestions? I feel like I have a newborn again and am lucky to get 3 hours sleep a night!

Is she cold? Could she be hungry?

Honestly, neither of mine would have settled for any length of time in their own room at that age. They were still waking every 2 hours, and with teething at 6 months it was more like every hour. The solution was to make the wakings easier to cope with so I didn’t have to get up out of bed every time.

We co-slept until they slept easily through the night as sleep is too important to me. It’s very easy to make your room safe for still sleeping together. Mine slept with me until they walking, so pulling up and crawling are no issues. You just need a safe room and a bed guard.

Otherwise, honestly, there isn’t really a trick to it other than settling them back to sleep every time they wake. If you have a partner, this is where they step in and do half the wakings too.
