Hi, dc’s class got gifts for teacher and TAs as a class collection (a gift card and a Thank You card for each); some kids opted to do on their own. We did as part of class collection. But should we still need to send a separate thank you card apart from the class collection? What is norm ?

I don't think so, we didn't - just contributed to class collection so teacher and the two TAs got money, flowers and chocolates from the class, saves them getting lots of little gifts that they then need to find a home for. If you wanted you could get you child to make or write a nice card separately but I don't think you need to get anything else x

Did you/your child personally sign the clas card? If so, that's enough I would say but if there was no card and you want to personally thank them then go for it but not because you feel pressured.

A card, yes, if you like. But an extra gift is unnecessary.

I have seen some of the kids who contributed in class collection still giving separate gifts;

My dc haven’t personally signed but the person who arranged collection wrote all the names of kids who contributed in the card.

This. A home made card is nice.
