To ask school to address other children’s behaviour?

Sorry, I have nobody to turn to as my OH has come home in a vile mood!

Historically my LB (6) has a quick temper, I hold my hands up and admit as much when any issues have arisen at school and will happily have honest conversations with his teacher or anybody who would like to address any issues!

Today his teacher told me at the end of school that he’s threatened to kill a child. Obviously that’s not going to happen and I have had been stern words with him about how inappropriate it is to say what he’s said. I’m assuming this language has been picked up from inappropriate tv programmes.

His teacher informed me there would be consequences during break time tomorrow which I’ve said I completely agree with.

However, his sister (10) who is usually the first one to drop him in the sh*t has come to me to say how this group of 3 girls have been winding him up continuously throughout break and lunchtime calling him weak, pathetic etc. She said she went over to him crying as they’d upset him that badly (he’s quite a tough cookie really).

I feel like I should be having a word with school tomorrow to ensure they are addressing the behaviour that has caused my son’s outburst ? I whole heartedly know he should never speak to anybody like that but equally those children shouldn’t be allowed to behave like this to their peers either?

We live in what was a quiet country village but a new housing estate has changed things quite considerably. One of the girls was telling my son about the “baby blue” urban myth and just seems to not speak very nicely to her peers.

Like I say, I absolutely know he should not speak to people how he has done but I can’t help but feel it’s just the easy way out for the school to blame the child who’s known to be a little hot headed!
