Yoto stories for 3yo bedtime recommendations

Does anyone have any recommendations for boring yoto cards?

3yo DS has started wanting to listen to his yoto when he goes to sleep. He has Peppa Pig bedtime stories but they’re too exciting and keep him awake. The Elmer ones seem much more sedate. I have the “bedtime stories for 3 year olds” card but he’s not keen on it.

Looking for stories with no jeopardy, read in a nice calm voice.

Julia Donaldson collection

Oi frog

Winnie the pooh is lovely but he may be a bit young

we recommend the faraway tree stories, read by Kate Winslet. My little boy falls asleep to them every night. Very soothing voice

We have the Julia Donaldson collections but DD actually prefers the Yoto sleep radio. She calls it her "calming music". Its lovely gentle piano music for them to drift off to. I like to listen to it as well if i sit in her room for a bit as she falls off 😁

Ladybird Sleepy Tales is what you need! Works a charm.

Topsy and I’m are a big hit here.
Goodnight spaceman is lovely

My two love the Puffin Sleepy Tales.

Forest of Sleep is a very meditative calming voice too but a bit annoying.

Goodnight Adventure Bay does a good calm voice for Paw Patrol fans, although if they're listening properly the action still happens.

Or Snail and the Whale is a good'un too. All the Julia Donaldson are great (although Room on the Broom voices seem to be too animated for these two to calm down)

I feel your pain, my 3yo loves Peppa pig and will finally be nodding off and then the theme tune kicks in really loudly! He also likes Thomas the tank engine fairy tale stories which is a lot calmer. The sleep sounds are quite good, he loves trains and sleeps to the railway track sound.

Dr Seuss’s Sleep Book gets my DD to sleep before the end without fail 😊

Where's Spot, Percy the park keeper, lion inside

Percy is lovely. Read by Jim Broadbent.

I think most of the Julia Donaldson’s have too much singing for bedtime.

Agree with another poster that the sleep radio is good too.

Ooh my DS is obsessed with Thomas, will definitely try the fairy stories, thank you.

My DC love this too. It was like a form of torture having to sit quietly on a hardwood floor in their bedroom in an airbnb waiting for them to settle, listening to myself for what felt like hours. Face for radio and a voice for print.

I do highly recommend this though OP, then you can pick any favourite stories and record them. Or borrow some audiobook cds from the library and copy the audio onto a card

DS also loves the Alfie stories, read by the wonderful Roger Allam, and we have a few Mog the cat cards which he likes.

Definitely percy the parkkeeper but we also find Paddington quite calming.
