Trouble introducing a bottle

Hi all,

my baby is 4 months old and has been exclusively breastfed. The past few weeks I have been pumping a small amount and trying to feed it to her through a bottle, but am having absolutely no luck!
I have tried different bottle brands, fresh pumped milk, refrigerated milk, sitting, standing, fed my me my mum DH. She literally just chews on it and spits the milk out.

I need to return to work a few times a week next month so I am extremely stressed. I am also so worried that if something where to happen to me, she would go hungry!

Can someone please offer some advice?

Have you tried using a cup rather than a bottle?

You mean like a sippy cup? Is there some
sort of age limit, or can only be introduced once some milestones have been achieved?

Try a free flow sippy cup (rather than anti-spill). There's no age limit - my brother was using one at 3 months.

I never managed to get my son to take a bottle, but he did very well with an open cup. There's plenty of spillage though, so go for a sippy cup first. You'll use them later on, so buying a bunch won't be a waste.

An open cup like a doidy might be a good idea (better for dental health than sippys apparently). They can be used from 3 months old. Good luck 😊
