Boiling water tap for making formula?

My little one is 6 and a half months old and been breastfed + the odd pumped milk.
Planning to move to formula soon . For the hot water mix, would you use the water directly from a boiling water tap? Ours is filtered too and the water is at 98 degrees.

Of course there is a tank below, so not sure how the re-heating, if any, works.

Thanks

I would. They can have tap water at that age. The reasoning behind the hot water is to kill any bacteria that might be lurking in the powder and 98 degress will definitely do that!

Not sure how your tap works but you aren't meant to use re boiled water for baby bottles , I bought the nuby rapid cool and flask set I boil the kettle and fill the flask and use that for bottles using the hot shot method .

I think it usually recommends a water temp for making formula on the tub. Boiling water is better than not boiled, but ideally it should be fresh water and I believe the recommended temp is lower than boiling temp. So ideally a boiled kettle left to cool for so many minutes rather than actually boiling when you pour it in.

We did it with the boiling tap and had no issues. If it was a scheduled feed, we'd just put the boiling water with the formula, shake and leave to cool. If it was a hangry baby situation, we would use a small amount of boiling water, add the formula, shake to mix, then add cooled boiled water from the fridge which we'd measured out earlier in the day. This way was more faff as we had to use more bottles throughout the day but you soon figured out the best boiling to cool ratio.

With our first, we had the perfect prep machine and I will admit that made life very easy. We didn't bother with our second due to having the hot tap.

I think the water needs to have been boiled, but then you usually let it cook down for a min or two before pouring it on the formula.
