Nursing Strike?

Over the last couple of days 15 week old DS has been crying as soon as I put him to the breast… he will give signs he is hungry but will not latch and gets very upset - he’s usually a pretty calm baby and shouts rather than cries when he wants something!

I have tried different positions, taking a break, skin to skin… the only way I was able to get some milk in him last night was to lean over him and literally dangle my boob into his mouth - glad it worked although obviously not a practical long term solution!

He normally takes a bottle from dad happily but is being fussy with those too - again managed to get a little milk into him when he was lying on his back but not a full feed.

He seems relatively okay in himself when he is not trying to feed, some wet nappies but not super heavy, no dirty ones since Tuesday although that’s not unusual for him.

Any advice?? At what point do I call GP/ Health Visitor??

Er now?! He hasn't fed properly for several days and he hasn't had a poo for two days? That isn't normal.

He usually poos every 2-3 days and at his last check GP said that’s very normal for a breastfed baby so hadn’t panicked about that but now I will call!

My daughter got like this due to silent reflux and food allergies. Around 15 weeks she fed for 5 seconds at a time for 1-2 minutes total during the day. She did better overnight
One dark day I had to give her a bath then feed her with skin to skin us both lying on the floor in our birthday suits covered with a towel
High dose omperazole and going dairy and soya free made a huge difference and later feeding aversions like this became my first warning signs of an allergic reaction

Teething perhaps, try some anbusol on his gums before feeding. Distinctly remember bottom two teeth appearing at 4 mths with first and their tongue goes over there putting pressure on the area.

Did come on thinking we were talking NHSđŸ˜‚
