Going from one to two worried

I'm hoping some of you might be able to reassure me.

My DS is 4 and he is absolutely amazing, such a good boy. We are always out and about together just the two of us and he is a real joy. I had multiple miscarriages before him.

I was told I wouldn't be able to conceive naturally I've had 3 gynaecology surgeries in this past year alone. Although sad I'd came round to only having one child and literally last week told my DP I was having a hysterectomy, fast forward to this week I've found out to our utter shock Im pregnant.

Can someone please talk to me about the benifits of having two? Im worried about the time spent with my DS more than anything. But also finances and how it will impact my DS experiences over the next few years holidays etc. Does the second baby just slot around your current life more so than the first?

We are moving back to my home city (and taking on a much bigger morgatge), but will have family support which we never had before. My mum will be within walking distance. Thank you!

I have a 4yo and a new baby, as does my friend. We do find they kind of just slot into life.

Ive found the jump from one to two quite easy with this age gap. My DD loves her sibling and she’s very independent now so it’s easier to manage. Plus, she’s at preschool most the day!

congrats OP

I found out I was pregnant when dc was 4, and found that the new baby did just slot in with our life. Found it was easier than the first time around!
