At what age did your child wipe themselves independently?

Apologies for the slightly crude question. I’m just wondering at what age it is reasonable to expect this?

4 or so? Definitely by the time he started school aged 4.5.

My question is, at what age do they grow out of wandering out of the bathroom with their pants round their ankles and loo roll stuck to their bum, to tell you something really important they just thought of? I assumed that would have stopped by age 7, but apparently not 🤷‍♀️

ds(20) had definitely started primary school and attempt at wiping was still pretty poor for another year or so - I would guess between 6-7ish. But he so rarely, if at all, went during school time during primary it wasn't a problem really.

He was potty trained day and night when he was just over two, but just couldn't get the hang of wiping.

About 4. They'll let you do it for them for as long as you're enough of a mug to do it ;)

4.5yo DS has been insisting on doing it for the last 6 months or so, but I do sometimes have to remind him where exactly he needs to wipe 🥴 I think it's hard for his arms to reach all the way back there and I suspect sometimes he just wipes the top of his crack because I occasionally find skid marks in his pants.
