Baby face itchy rash

My baby has terrible eczema under her chin and neck. It keeps her awake as she’s desperately trying to scratch it 😞 What cream can I use that’s safe for her face and will at least alleviate the itching? X

Oh I've been, several times. On a waiting list for a dermatologist but heard nothing still. I was given hydrocortisone but I can't use it on her face and was also given aproderm but no joy with it. I mainly need to soothe the itching 😞

I feel your pain you need keep calling and ask if they any cancellation, to push you forward keep telling them how your baby she's uncomfortable which affects you both

Trust me I've tried but they just keep throwing the generic "we'll call when an appointment is available" at me 😞

I put lansinoh nipple cream (lanolin) on everything!

It sounds like there is probably nothing that will make it go away other than some sort of steroid cream. My GP prescribed a course of hydrocortisone for DC1’s face and DC2 under the chin. Did they tell you not to use it at all? I would definitely go to the GP again in the meantime and ask what you can try. I have also given antihistamine at night if it’s been really bad (but not until the DCs were older).

To be honest, they didn't actually say not to use on her face. I've taken that it can't be used there from what I've read people say. Apparently it thins the skin or something? I'd happily use it there if it would help.

I would get an GP appointment and ask about it. They might be able to prescribe a short course of it to clear the flare up while you wait for the dermatologist. I think the guidance online is so that you don’t use it without the advice of a GP due to the face being more sensitive/thinner skin.
