My little girl is just shy of 5 months and is really struggling with teething pain 😢
We both needed a little break so ive put some disney on (i know shes got no clue whats happening 😂), and shes calmed right down.
Is that bad for her? Cant find any guidance onlibe except for from america.

Most of our grandparents left their babies to cry more than most current parents are comfortable with.

And most cranky babies will be far more accepting of the childminder putting them down while they do the washing up than their mother (and her boobs).

@CelesteCunningham yes you're right. They used to put babies in their prams a lot and often left the pram outside (in the garden/yard/alleyway) to cry whilst they got on with jobs, and smoked while doing them.

Also a childminder will have a set up designed to stimulate kids that is different to home. With other children of a similar age there to keep the kids occupied.
Children are small humans.

See my username ^

…and I didn’t make it just to comment on this post, this is my actual username. Some days my little one watches sensory videos for a few minutes, so I can shower or do something absolutely essential. When I’ve tried endless singing, toys, and different layouts to keep him safe in the bathroom. Yes, I understand the science behind why he is ‘mesmerised’. Yes, I know it’s not ideal.

But some days no amount of dry shampoo will do, and I need to leave the house. And it’s that or him screaming. I’m right next to him, usually I put it on silent and sing over the top!

I don’t feel guilty at all. I do what I need to do!

The world health organisation clearly states that screens are very damaging to children under 3 years old. It over stimulates their brains and essentially freezes the child

i always feel this is such a first child recommendation. Unless your oldest child doesn’t watch any telly either. Anyway my two youngest are not over stimulated, frozen or screen addicted after being exposed to some tv in their baby years. Little bit of common sense wouldn’t go amiss.

I think it’s important to try and get them used to entertaining themselves as well. But a small bit of telly doesn’t damage anyone.
