How late can your 2 and a half year old stay up?

I'm just intrigued if mine is unusual as he never seems to get tired or when he does then he fights sleep.
We are on holiday so obviously out of routine but jam packed days full of walking etc and he can still stay up till 10/11pm. I try get him to sleep a bit earlier but he forces his eyes open. He sometimes has had a nap in car but never for long and usually before 12/1pm.
He is excited because on holiday but at home he can easily stay up too.
We visited my brother and I just let him stay up and he was still awake at midnight? Like don't some kids just drop off when they get tired?
I know it's just his personality and he was a very wakeful baby. He's got such an imagination and wants to keep telling stories instead of sleeping.
Just wondering if anyone else's 2 year olds are like this too?
Most people I speak to their kids are in bed at half 7.

In bed by 1900-1930. If staying up beyond that it’s never exceeded 2100pm, by then it’s good night and kaput

Ours is regularly hard to get to bed before 9:30/ 10 as has older siblings wants to play with but doesn't wake til 8:30 and still has a decent nap every day. What time does yours get up ? Does he get grouchy from tiredness?
i did a sleep awareness course once and remember that one sign of tiredness is paradoxically seeming very lively / overstimulated so when DS is too animated late at night I do worry not getting enough sleep.
our DS constantly wants yet another book but I have to say no as he simply won't switch off. Tonight I put boring sleep music on !

My 2.5 year old has a usually bedtime of 6.30pm but has stayed up to around 9pm before. Usually overtired and crabby by that point!

He's been waking around 7.30 on holiday. At home if he goes to bed at 830/9ish then he's awake about 6/6.30.
He rarely seems grouchy , just very happy. He does get lively and hyper and that's when I know he's gone way past tired so I try and look for tired signs before that but he lacks any signs haha. It could be genetic as my OH only sleeps 5/6 hours a night and seems to function very well.

My daughter is exactly the same, she’s just turned 3 and has been going to bed around 9pm since she was 1

He's finally fell asleep now tonight after lots of arm tickling. I tried to leave the room but he just keeps getting out of bed.

So last night we had the bed time battles again and he didn't fall asleep till 10.30pm. He did sleep till 9 though which is very late for him.
Today we've had a long walk, he had 2 hours playing in the park, 1 hour at soft play and we also went swimming (very busy day I know but because we are away).
Thought he would be shattered as he kept rubbing eyes so attempted bed time around 8.15. 9.30pm and he's still wide awake. Whilst I'm telling him a story he can barely keep his eyes open and keeps tugging at his eye lashes to keep them open!!! I've never known anyone fight sleep like it. Me and partner haven't had a single hour to ourselves. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Sleeps 6pm-7am. Would faint on the spot if kept up past 7:30pm.
