Baby arching back in highchair

Hi all
Last few days I noticed my 9 month old arching his back whist eating in the highchair
He looks like he's pushing down on feet sometimes and sometimes he just looks uncomfortable and extends his tummy in his chair
Sometimes will use hands to push down on and extend too.

Any idea what's wrong? I have munchkin floaty highchair

I put a foot rest for him and hasn't helped. He just pushes down on it.

Doesn't seem to do any other time
Worried. Please help x

Nothings wrong, they all do it. He is realising that he can push down with his feet and practicing thats.

Is this only when he's eating in his highchair?

Does he do it if he's just sitting in the highchair?
Does he do it if he's just drinking something in the highchair?

Not sure exactly. He's done it with and without eating In there. He sometimes just looks uncomfortable and sometimes he's pushing down himself
Sometimes it's all combined
It's a very new thing

He's learning he can move and control his body in a different way from when he's sitting and crawling.

Then it shows you that it's not connected with eating or drinking, so there's no need to worry 😊
As PP have said, it just sounds like he's exploring a new environment and a new way of being able to move and explore what he can do :) x

He'll be fine, honestly!
Our little ones sometimes make the strangest noises and the strangest faces/grimaces - but they're learning and everything is an effort and new and strange ..... you're doing fine to worry and ask when you're not sure! x
