Innovative ways to get her to take medicine!

Being discharged from hospital today (hooray) after a long week. 16 month old hates taking medicine from a syringe.
ANY medicine, whether she likes the taste or not.

We tried spoons, letting her do it herself, sneaking in a spoon during mealtimes and pinning her down and squeezing it in. The poor kid just doesn't like taking medicine. And we have a huge dose of antibiotics (like 14ml!) to give 4 times per day for the next 6 weeks, not including if she needs any pain relief as well.

Currently giving it to her mixed in with a yoghurt. I'm nervous if we don't have any other method that if she decides to not have that (4 x a day is a lot after all!) then we'll be stuck.

All weird and wonderful ideas welcome!

Could you try mixing it into low sugar jam or a fruit puree?

I tried it in a fruit punch this morning and she did not like that but jam is worth a shot

Will she eat mashed banana? Apple or pear puree?
You may have to offer foods you can "hide" it in when she's hungry before then giving her her usual meal

Have you spoken to the pharmacist to ask if there is a higher liquid dose, which would mean less mls? Or a tablet version which can be crushed between 2 spoons and added to the yoghurt or jam?

Also, paracetamol comes in a suppository form which 'might' be easier than another oral medication.

I might have to do this because she's already just refusing the yoghurt now ...
