Poo!

My daughter (6 months old next week) has not had a poo since Thursday. It’s really unlike her as she’s never gone a day without a poo since being born.

Can this be normal?

Is she BF or FF @Rose1999?

Have you started solids yet?

And is she ok or is she in pain?

Rose1999 · 08/06/2024 21:00

Sorry, I should have said. She's ebf and no solids yet. She's ok in herself.

Make sure you are drinking lots of water so you have plenty of milk and offer lots of feeds. As long as she doesn't seem too uncomfortable, it will be ok and come out eventually.

Obviously if she looks distressed seek medical attention.

Thanks, I appreciate that

Totally normal for ebf babies to go days between. Mine reliably went every third day after the first six weeks. Perfectly happy in the interim. There's very little waste with breastmilk; it's common and normal.

They only start to do investigation with BF babies after 2 weeks.

Like others have said, drink plenty and if she's in pain seek medical attention.

You could always plan on going somewhere nice or somewhere in a short deadline.

If you've put her in nice clothes or you're running late she's bound to have a huge poo!
