Weird rash?

Hi all, I need your help!

2 year old DD developed a snotty nose and non-itchy measles-type rash on her arms and legs 2 weeks ago, and we went to A&E who said it was just viral.

It has since turned red and blotchy, but comes and goes throughout the day, worst after sleep and fades by evening, so we went to GP who suggested trying Pyriton and hydrocortisone.

It's been 3 days of that now and no improvement. Doctors seem stumped. Do any of you lovely Mumsnetters have any ideas? She is on a steroid inhaler if that makes any difference, but no other issues.

TIA!

Hiya did you get any answers from this rash? My son is going through exactly the same

Curious to know if you found out what this rash was?
We have an identical on for our son (5) with precisely the same symptoms and inhaler!
Latest idea: allergy to sunlight!

We ended up speaking to another doctor who said that we could stop the Pyriton and hydrocortisone, and it can take up to 3-4 weeks to go away completely. Sure enough it eventually went away by itself, but did take a few weeks!

This looks to me very much like when my son had hand foot and mouth

This looks like the lace like pattern of the slapped cheek syndrome rash.
Usually comes up a week or ten days after your child having had a day or two of red cheeks - have you noticed that at all?

My 2 year old and 4 year old both have this just now. Its slapped cheek (fifth disease) it was spreading through my 4 year olds nursery for weeks. They had sent us a list of symptoms to look out for. My 2 year olds only lasted a few days but my 4 year old is a week in and the rash still going strong and has now developed a chesty cough. No temperature or any other symptoms, just seems a bit tired. Both my girls started with red cheeks then spread to arms and hands etc
