Is it time to transition to 1 nap? Please send help 😪

I have a 17 month old who is still on 2 naps a day. But those 2 naps are all over the place at the moment, which is making me think whether is it time to transition to 1 nap. Please help.

Her daily schedule is as follows. Please do not judge her bedtime because this is what works for our family. My husband has to leave for work early and he wouldn't get any time to spend with her in the evening if she goes to bed early.

Wake up : between 8-8:30 AM + milk
Breakfast : around 10 AM
1st nap : roughly around 11:15 am - 1:15 pm
Lunch : around 2 pm
2nd nap : around 4 - 5pm
Dinner : 7pm
Bed : Around 9pm

But since a week or so, she is catnapping in the morning, her nap hardly lasting more than 45 mins.. afternoon nap is difficult to settle but is a bit longer.. somedays she refuses to nap without me on her side🙈 as much as I enjoy being nap trapped but it is severely reducing my hours for cooking and chores around the house..

I am finding it difficult to get her to nap and this is affecting her night sleep as well.

Is it another sleep regression or is it time to transition to 1 nap altogether? Please help🥲

All the children I know transitioned to one nap around their first birthday so based on that alone I would say yes.

Both mine dropped all their naps at 18 months, so two naps a day at 17 months sounds a lot.

I'm also wondering whether food timings might be an issue. No meal between dinner at 7pm and breakfast at 10am - is that right?

Hi, no, she has lunch around 2 pm and also 2 snacks.. snacks are usually fruits, one in the morning and one in the evening

Hi,

Overall your baby is sleeping very well but yes it's probably time to drop to one nap if possible. Would you like more of an 8am-8pm routine? Or 9-9

No - it's the overnight gap I'm referring to. Breakfast seems quite late if she hasn't eaten since 7pm the night before, and been up again for a couple of hours before eating.

It may be, yes.. but because she is combi fed, she sometimes breastfeeds at night.. we co sleep.. would you suggest that I move dinner time a bit late?

9-9 would suit us better due to the reason I stated before..

So I would do this:
9am wake and breakfast - porridge and fruit with a cup of milk
11am snack and water
1pm lunch with plenty of protein and a greek yoghurt afterwards
1.30 - 3.30pm nap (wake by latest 4pm)
4pm cup of milk and snack
6pm dinner
7.30pm bath
8pm milk and stories
8.30pm bed

If your LO wakes up earlier just shift the whole thing back accordingly

It sounds like it’s time to drop a nap! My dc similar aged does one nap, but if she’s had an early morning wake or bad night then I try to get her to have a short morning nap to compensate - so on those days she will have 2 naps.
She also sleeps/wakes up late as this timing works for us:
7.30/8am wake
1-3 nap
8.30/9pm bed

My dc also co-sleeps and has a feed in the middle of the night or at the very least when she first wakes up, so often they’re also not hungry until a bit later.

My daughter dropped her nap around 13-14 months and had a 8-9pm bed time.
When she dropped the nap around 3 she moved to half 7 bedtime in winter and it's closer to half 8 since the clocks have changed

I can't remember what she was like at 18 months but at home around 2. She was up at 7.30-8 breakfast around 9 lunch around 12 nap 1-3 dinner around 5 and bed time routine started around 7.30-8 and it generally took 20 minutes to get her ready for bed with various meds and then an hour to get her to sleep. She isn't a good eater and has never had regular snacks.
At nursery she napped 12 - 1.30 and probably went to sleep 20 minutes quicker
