Babies ‘sleeping through’ the night

So I just found out at playgroup that when all of the mums say their babies ‘sleep through’ the night they don’t count feeding as a wake up and a quick google (as we all know google is always right 🙈😅) said the same. One of the mums said their baby has a feed at 12 and another at 3 but as it is a ‘dream feed’ she counts them as sleeping through still. Am I being stupid by not counting this as sleeping through?
By this logic my son has been sleeping through since he was around 6 weeks. He’s 5 months old, goes to bed at 7:30, has a bottle at 12:00 and 4:30 then wakes up around 6:30/7:00. I don’t know if I’m being a bit optimistic but I’ve been thinking sleeping through would mean I get at least 6 consecutive hours of sleep 😅.
p.s - I’m not complaining about the amount of sleep I get, these wake ups are fine for me I was just shocked to find that others may count this as sleeping through.

Of course not they’re bonkers sleeping through is just that, sleeping through!

Mine sleep thought from the first night if you don't count feeds! What nonsense.

Really for me sleeping through is in their own bed for the night.

That’s funny, to me it always meant not waking at all.

This is a huge bug bear of mine.

My friend once told me her DD was sleeping through at 3 months, while my DS was still up 4 or 5 times a night at 12 months. I was really envious and asking all sorts of advice.
It later transpired her DD was sleeping through attached to the boob and constantly feeding!!

If a baby is waking up and feeding or needs re settling, even if they don't leave the bed, they are not sleeping through at all, IMO.

To me, sleeping through means asleep and no need for parent interaction for at least 8 hours.

Both my kids are light sleepers and DS didn't sleep through until 2.

I'm genuinely curious if babies exist who don't wake at all over night. My experience of motherhood would be A LOT different if I had one of those.

Thanks everyone I thought I was going mad 🙈 it’s at least comforting to know that the majority are in the same sleepless boat wether they count it is sleeping through or not 🤣

Medically "sleeping through" means 5 hours.
Colloquially I think most people mean at least 6 or 7 hours.
I had the same experience as you with NCT mums meaning "only wakes up for feeds".
