Going back to OU after baby?

Hi

Am thinking about going back to the OU next month when dd will be about 16 weeks. It's a 60 point course. I'm a single mum.

Am I mad or is this practical?

If anything I would of said This time is the easier time as babies are more amenable, when they are three its hell.
Good on you. How many points have you got/have you got to get. Are you planning to be completed before she starts school?

I've already got 180, so I'm about half way there.

I'd have thought I'll be finished before she's in school - especially as they don't start till they are 6 here

You'll be fine then. Good luck with the other 180 points.

Hello,

Wanted to drag this thread up as I have a very similar question...
I'm a current OU student and I really want to do their Creative Writing course starting this October. My baby is due in August and will be about 6 weeks-ish when it starts. The thing is, it's at Level 3 (60 points) and I'm not sure if I will cope with the work and a new baby. What do you guys think?

I don't want to put it off as there is only one a year at the same time, and there have been problems with the governments funding for OU courses which it might mean that 2008-9 is the last year I could get a course grant.
Just figured I'd put this out there and see what others thought! Thanks.

Vicky
