C section and moving house ?

Hi all

so I am due a C section in less than a week and also need to move house asap due to being in catchment for a terrible school and wanting to move next to the best school in time for October applications.

Long story short - there was a goodchance we could get into another more remote school without moving house but this is now looking dicey and we don’t want to take any risks.

weve spoken to estate agent who will put us on market straight away… I’m wondering advice from those who have had a c section - will I be okay to sit in car whilst viewers look round? Will I be okay mentally and still bond with baby and enjoy the newborn period? I’m quite anxious about it all and have an older child too. however I don’t want to leave it and find we can’t sell in time.

thanks in advance!

I don’t think you need to sit in your car. The people viewing will understand you have just had a baby and need to sit on your sofa. It certainly wouldn’t put me off buying a house.

I was fine travelling and going places after both my c sections. Within 4 days of my first c section we went for a pub lunch. Obviously my husband drove us. By 3 weeks post section I was fine driving myself.

But also I think it would be fine to stay in the house or if the sun's shining in the garden.

Although the mess of the house with a newborn might by more of a challenge you would need help to tidy for viewings. As I wasn't up for any heavy work for the first month (both physically post section and sleep deprivation wise).

Also I wouldn't do any viewings in the mornings. My youngest would go back to sleep about 9am, so I would take advantage and get an extra hours sleep in the newborn stage. And it always takes longer to sort yourself and baby out each morning than you think.
