I’m leaving my 15mo boy tomorrow until Monday and I’m DREADING it! I’m a single parent and we live with my mum (his Granny). He’ll be with Granny who is his absolute fave!
Just don’t want him to miss me too much, makes me sad.
just want some shared experience of this if possible!
xx

What are you doing for weekend OP?

I'm sure he will have a fabulous time with your mum, particularly as you live together so she must be very close to him and familiar with his routines.

Have a fab break.

He will be fine and have a lovely time with your mum. Make sure you enjoy yourself because otherwise its a waste!

Does he go down for naps for her and eat if she serves him?

If so, go off and have a wonderful time! He might not even notice youve gone 😂 (I mean this kindly. My DD is looked after by my parents and she doesn't care I'm not around LOL)

I left my DD for the first time earlier this year and she was fine. I definitely worried about it more than needed. Have a fab time in Italy and enjoy your short break! 🤩

Absolutely fine especially as he's used to granny already so his routine won't be disrupted and sleeping in his usual place. Enjoy yourself Smile

Absolutely fine. I used to work shifts including nights that meant I slept all day and was away all night. I also went to conferences and had to leave baby for 4 or 5 nights from when she was about a year old.
Go, enjoy yourself and get a rest whilst you're there too 🧡

He'll be fine. It's not quite the same, but it sort of is since you live with your mum and she is essentially by the sounds of it, like a co-parent in a way. I left both of mine at that age. With dc1, I went to Australia for 2 weeks (for work, not just randomly) and with dc2, I went to Italy on holiday with dc1. The dc were home with dh both times and it was lovely. Much easier second time around obviously than the first, but it was a nice time away. Enjoy!
