Newborn baby, green nappies!

Hi all, baby is 5 weeks old. As of 2 weeks ago she has been producing green poos when feeding on breast milk (both expressed and from the breast). Interestingly, she passes regular mustardy poos after her cow and gate formula. So can't be CMPA, right? She lets off explosive, watery, normally small poos when she has breast milk. Her nappies have been green every day so I must be eating something she doesn't agree with. I am just giving her formula now, but pumping to keep the supply going.
I haven't spotted any blood in her stool. Does anyone have experience of breast milk causing baby's poo to go green, without it being caused by and allergy/intolerance?

Does she seem to be in any discomfort? Is she gaining weight? If she doesn't seem to be experiencing discomfort and is gaining weight, it is likely not problematic. Discuss with your midwife/HV at their next visit if you're concerned though.

Breastfed Baby Poop - What to Expect

Is there a reason why you have stopped breastfeeding? Was there an issue other then the colour of your babies poo? Poo can be different colours and if there where no other concerns then I wouldn't have stopped breastfeeding. Although allergies can causes this as you say unlikely if your baby is fine on formula it could be a hindmilk/formillk imbalance. Did you have a lot of milk? Seeking help breastfeeding support would be your best bet.

I haven't stopped breastfeeding. Before anyone chimes in with "breast is best" my first child was formula fed and is thriving. So I believe that fed is best.
I have poor milk supply so have been giving her formula. And yes, it is a poor milk supply. I only manage to pump 200-300 ml a day.

If I remember rightly it's because baby is getting too much foremilk. Do you change breast during a feed?

The amount you can pump doesn't indicate how much milk your baby can get. I was never able to pump any milk with either of mine (well maybe 10-20ml) yet they where both fully BF. Pumping it's a totally different mechanism to a baby feeding and not all women are able to pump. Pumping just isn't as efficient as a baby breastfeeding and should never be used as an indication of supply.

Supply is indicated, by baby having plenty of wet nappies and gaining weight happily.
