Do your kids sleep worse in the summer?

Just that really! Do you find your kids are harder to get to bed/wake up earlier in the summer, with the days getting longer? And vice versa, do they sleep longer in the winter?

Yep. Bedtimes are so hard in summer- they're not more tired and ready for bed because they've been out all day. They're hot bothered and it's still light and noisy out so their attitude is, why are they going to bed?! DS10 is better than DS8 but it's not just a toddler thing, unfortunately

I definitely think so, it's just too bright even with blackout blinds/curtains light still gets in!

Yep. She's nearly 4 now and we have learnt that as soon as the clocks change in march her blackout blinds and curtains have to be closed before she goes into her bedroom and around July time we start doing a fake sunset closing all the curtains in the house around 6pm

This is the first year she has been able to articulate that she doesn't want to go to bed because of the light and keeps telling us it's not bed time because it's still morning.

So far her bedtime has only creeped later going to sleep between 8 and 8.45 rather than 7.30-8.

Thankfully she's like me and has a dislike for mornings so she's wakes up between 6.30 and 7.45. on my office days I often have to wake her up at 7 in order for me to get the train
