Pumping breast milk

Hey,
One really deflated mama here.
Abit of back story. My little boy is 2 weeks old. For the first 2 weeks he was exclusively bottle fed.
Never really been interested in pumping/breastfeeding but we've had nothing but issues with formula constipation ect. So decided to combi feed, abit silly considering I've decided after my milk has already dried up my mistake.
I bought a breast pump yesterday and started to pump, I'm really not getting much. I'm doing 15-20 mins each side. Most I've got is 15ml in total from both sides. I'm pumping every 2-3 hours. But I'm really not getting much and it's upsetting me, also it's yellow? So not sure if it's colostrum.
Is it too late? Have I ruined my supply waiting so long? Is there anyway to increase supply.
Also any tips on pumping and getting more milk would be highly appreciated.
Will post a pic of the colour.
Thankyou for reading.

Ah OP, it is what it is. You can’t change the choice you made when your little one was born so try not to beat yourself up about it.

In terms of increasing your supply, you might find that you have more luck with bringing your milk back in by putting baby to the breast as opposed to pumping. You will need to still use formula while you do this because you won’t have enough milk quite yet. But bringing baby to the breast often, perhaps after a feed so they’re not starving and frustrated, letting them stay on there for a while if they will latch and just suckle will be really good for stimulating your boobs to produce more milk.

Good luck!

I agree with the previous comment. Relactation and building a supply usually needs skin to skin or latching from the baby too, so make sure you're doing that. Also try as often overnight as you can as that's when we produce the most prolactin to build supply.

Yep I agree. Baby is way more efficient at stimulating your supply. Many women can successfully breastfeed long term but can never pump anything.

let him use you as a dummy as often as you can bear.

Thankyou all for replying. I can't use baby on breast to increase supply as I can't put baby on breast due to simulation issues with nipples. I hate the feeling of things/people touching my nipples. Hence why I didn't breastfeed from the start. So it's exclusively bumping unfortunately

You'll need to keep regularly pumping, especially overnight but without putting baby to the breast you may not be able to build up the supply you need so just bear that in mind. Good luck though, I hope it gets better for you.

Have you looked at options such as nipple shields?

if you are trying to only feed expressed milk I would get some expert advice. It’s not easy..

I have exactly the same problem and feel the same guilt :(

My baby is eight days old and I've been manual pumping every day since my milk came in just to give her something from me on top of her formula but the amount I actually get is woeful, maybe 5ml from both sides in total. You have tons more than me by the looks of things :)

I really hope it works out for you! My goal was to get at least one bottles worth of milk a day but I don't think I'm going to be able to achieve it.
