Colic ? Reflux ? HELP!

This is a long one so please agree with me! My daughter is 6 weeks old and since week 1 we've had issues.
At first it was bringing up wind, she was terrible for not bringing it up and she was crying with what seems like belly ache constantly.
We tried infacol - didn't work so we started using colic drops which helped bring up her wind.
But she was still griping after and between feeds with belly ache and straining like she was trying to poo. Outside of the belly ache we suspect silent reflux as she's constantly hiccuping during and after feeds and we do clock the occasional swallow back when being winded.
We went to see the doctor and he felt around her belly , no signs of constipation he put it down to a combination of reflux and colic and suggested we move onto comfort milk which we did.
We stopped using colic drops to begin with as it's suggests online that it does the same job as the comfort milk but after a few days of her barely bringing up wind I started using them again!
We use mam anti colic bottles from the start but with comfort being a thicker milk we got size two teats but she drank her bottles so fast she gave herself belly ache !
So fast forward to today , she's been on comfort almost two weeks now , she's bringing wind up better with the colic drops but she's still not settling between feeds

  • poos once a day but constantly straining
  • she seems to cluster feed a couple of ounces a time from 4 - 10pm ish we've known her go through 9 ounces during this period
  • she's still looking for feeds every 2-3 hours
  • constantly farting
  • griping with belly ache
-hiccups
  • she will cry for a feed have a few sucks and then stop so we swap it for the dummy then she will cry for the bottle and do the same thing again
  • she has breaks during feeds, won't take a full 3 or 4 oz rather she will keep stop starting , it can take me hours to give her a feed
I am genuinely out of ideas of what I can try next to get settle her enough into a routine 😩😩 feel like I'm constantly leaving her to cry.

Sounds like she is comfort feeding as a result of the relfux. Did the GP not prescribe her anything for that if not id go back .

Also look into cows milk allergy can cause stomach issues constipation/ diarrhoea . Could be a combination of both x

At 6 weeks, I wouldn't worry about a routine, but of course you want her to be more comfortable. Have you tried doing bicycle legs and massaging her tummy clockwise to help her with wind and doing a poo?

If you think silent reflux might still be a problem, is she any better if you keep her upright for 20-30 minutes after a feed? Any other symptoms that might fit with CMPA?

Funnily enough she had this rash now for a few weeks , I assumed it's baby acne? She's also very snuffly and has been since she's been born. Milk allergy is one in the back of my mind...

I think I'd ask the doctor about trying CMPA milk at this point. If they won't prescribe, I think you can buy some of the extensively hydrolysed formulas over the counter to do a trial, and if that makes all the difference, hopefully get a prescription then.
