Nappies vs pull ups for baby on flight

My baby will be 8 months old when we fly, are pull ups better or nappies on the flight?

Someone mentioned pampers baby dry night are best to buy for flights but they seem to only come in pants style?

Are there any good Nappy alternatives for flight? Mainly concerned about potential poos! Wees I probably won't change for a 4.5 hour flight with the faff that seems to come with tiny changing area on planes!

With the pull up ones you can just rip the sides to take them off if you don’t want to pull them down.

Taped. Yes you can tear off the pull up but that’s neither here nor there as you still need to get the fresh one on and if that’s another pull up it means a full bottom half strip. Taped nappies mean you can just pull their leggings down to their knees. Plane changing tables are fine and have plenty of space for an 8MO, it’s trying to change a 2YO that’s a PITA. I wouldn’t worry about it. Also TRUST ME the last thing you want is a nappy leak from your lap infant. I’d change half way through the flight to be on the safe side. It’ll be far easier than changing yourself 🤣

Also on that topic, not all nappy brands are a good fit for all babies so my advice would be don’t deviate from your usual nappy on a plane and try a new brand unless it’s an emergency and you have no choice because you’ve run out. Use whatever you use every day, presuming leaks aren’t usually an issue for you.

I'd agree with @InTheRainOnATrain , taped so that you don't have to completely strip their lower half to get the new nappy on and use your usual brand (or test the new ones before you go). And still bring a change of clothes for both baby and yourself!

I would stick to what you use at home and know fits your baby. I have recommended pull ups for flights, for older toddlers who may be mostly potty trained, but might fall asleep on a flight and be prone to accidents or not able to get to the toilet due to seat belt sign being on.

I think pull ups are actually harder to get on a lying down baby than a normal nappy. If you have a toddler who is standing well independently, they can be more convenient, but an 8 month old generally isn't standing well enough to help get them on by lifting their legs and putting a foot through the hole.

I would stick with what you know works already. Flying can be uncertain enough.
