Advice on liners for cloth nappies please! Poo TMI alert....

Hello,
Can any of you nappy gurus out there give me some advice on how best to line DS's nappies? The problem I would like to solve is that my DS's poo is the stickiest stuff in the world. At the moment I am using fleece liners which keep him nice and dry BUT dealing with them is a bit yukky as the poo will not come off with rinsing and needs scrubbing. I've tried some paper liners but his poo goes right through the ones I have. Can you recommend a tough BF sticky poo-proof paper liner for me to try?
Many thanks.

nah, the really bog lumps go down the loo. but im not standing there jiggling and coaxing the poo off the liner (just 'peels off' the fleece liner, my ARSE!) all day...

im telling you folks, my way rocks. if you have decent water pressure, you should try it.

My bath has randomly been plumbed to the soil pipe anyway for some reason. If I did that though, I would have to fight the urge to bleach the bath every time I rinsed a nappy in it - which isn't very environmentally friendly.

oh wash, earthmothering slatternly behaviour comes naturally to me.

besides, its not the bath I bath in

bathe

Washersaurus · 03/04/2008 22:36

You have more than one bath?

I hate cleaning the ONE we have!

Washersaurus · 03/04/2008 22:39

I'm loving the idea of a utensil rack by the loo btw

broguemum · 03/04/2008 22:40

Oh but LilyMunster the water pressure thing worries me. Have you not seen Death at a Funeral where Uncle Alfie's poo ends up on that poor chap's face and in his mouth 'cos the water pressure is so high and he gets caught in the splashback? Great movie - can seriously recommend it but that scene has traumatised me.... deeply.

And I also read somewhere that you can just hold the fleece liner over the toilet and the poo will drop off!!!! In your dreams!!!! Whoever wrote that was not referring to ultimately sticky poo from a 4 mo!!!!

onepiece - expanding on the kitchen utensils might be the answer... maybe a cheese grater??? Will give this some serious thought.

Seriously, just shove the whole nappy and liner of a 4mo straight in the bucket - you don't need to pick the poo off at all! I was talking weaned baby type poo!

broguemum · 03/04/2008 22:45

Ah... weaned baby poo - a big difference - roll on the days.

Thanks everyone for your tips - much appreciated. Am turning off light now as DH making grumpy noises about not bringing laptops to bed anymore.... Good night.

i dont bathe. i bath. call me common if ytou wish, i dont mind.

utensil rack nest to loo a def conversation starter/stopper. great idea!

brogemum, i do not know the movie of which you speak... prob a good idea byt the sounds of it (arf) - but washersauraus makes a v fine point - stop trying to remove the poo at all - its not solid, the washing machine can cope with it. trust us.

broguemum · 04/04/2008 08:25

But what to include in the utensil rack? Corkscrew? What will people think it is FOR????

LilyMunster - I do the exact same thing! I gave up on liners because ds's poo is so smeary.
I do wash the bath afterwards!
I would blast it down the loo but the hose doesn't reach...
