Tracking app

I know some people think they’re stupid, but do you have any (free) tracking apps you recommend?
im not looking for it to tell me when I should be doing things or anything
but my memory is terrible and I’m trying to check if the baby is getting enough food from breast feeding (other than just waiting a few days and seeing if they’ve put on weight). I’ve been told I should be expecting a certain amount of wet nappies for example, so if I can log them for a few days it’d really help.
I did try in WhatsApp but it got confusing with dh also trying to log them.

I've been using ParentLove to track nappies, breastfeeding and naps and have found it really good. There's also an option to share access which I've found really helpful as my husband could log things too and you can keep track of everything.

There's a paid for version but we found the free one was just what we were after so never upgraded

Why do you need an app? I would find a pen and paper easier.

I’m far more likely to have my phone with me around the house than remembering to carry round a piece of paper and then keep handing that paper and pen to my husband along with the baby 😂

thank you that app sounds like it could be exactly what I’m looking for

Tracking nappies is helpful and there are loads of apps which can do this. The one recommended above sounds good as it can sync :)

Don't fall into the trap of trying to track breastfeeding through the apps - breastfeeding is not uniform and the apps don't understand it. It will cause you grief if you do this because you'll start looking for patterns in the data and then worry if the pattern seems to change, which it will, because measuring minutes and sides and so on is of no use to anybody.

Think about this - if you wanted to lose weight by tracking your food intake, would you measure how many minutes you spent eating, or how many times you ate in a day? Of course not Smile You'd look at other information like calories. Since you can't do this with breastfeeding, it's best to forget the apps and try and gain confidence in trusting yourself and trusting your body.

The videos on this Youtube page are really great for explaining breastfeeding and how to check baby is getting enough etc. You're doing great!
