DS was born 9lb 4oz. Gained weight fast too.

at 10mo health visitor check he was 24lb but his height correlated this she wasn’t worried.

hes 28mo now and just had his 2year check, he wouldn’t get on scale but sat on it with his foot off? And it said 13.2 kg so I’ve just rounded it to 13.5? I think that should be right with no foot on so he’s about 29/30 l

on the chart for age and weight she’s plotted him and he’s between 75th and 91st, she didn’t measure but he had an appointment start of last month and he was measured and about 87/88cm he kept moving but this is what we got from the tries

i always thought he was quite ‘big’ but my HV said he’s average no concerns

Will he slow down weight gain/steady out? What were your kids like as toddlers then as kids?

he eats very well , does have a sweet tooth but when he asks for snacks it’s fruit he’s given or a low sugar baby snack (he does stil like the baby ‘wafers’ you get for weaning haha). He excersies well and walks 0.5-1 mile per day, sometimes more than 1 mile - this is in a walk not counting his normal pottering activity

So at 27 months, he was 87-88 cm tall. On the UK-WHO charts, that's about 25th centile. At 28 months, he was about 13.5 kg. On the same charts, that's between the 50th and the 75th centile.

Those are both very common centiles to be on (half of children will be between 25th and 75th). His weight centile is a bit higher than his height centile, but I think within normal range, not anything they'd worry about. I'd just keep encouraging him to eat to his appetite, the vast majority of the time healthy choices, and plenty of exercise – he sounds like he's doing fine. Perhaps offer some snacks with more protein, a small piece of cheese or a cracker/rice cake with peanut butter. It will keep him satisfied for longer than just fruit.
