I am a mother of 6 , 4 at home how many outfits per child ? I feel I'm absolutely swamped by clothes and constantly going through wardrobes how many outfits, shorts tshirts , trousers etc do they need I feel I'm doing something wrong here because there is just so much!!!
My baby for example I've gave most of his stuff away brand new as I'm that parent that keeps them in sleepsuits ( he's 10 months ) he's only just now wearing rompers etc

Bloody loads. But that's because I get sooo many hand-me-downs from my cousin. We don't use two thirds of it.

if I was buying, I'd prob get about 6 long sleeve shirts, 6 normal tshirts, 2-3 dresses, 1 dungarees type thing, 6 leggings, 5 shorts/cropped leggings and 2 or 3 joggers, plus 2 cardy and 3 or 4 jumper/hoodies.

Ours have generally had 1 pair of trainers, 1 pair of boots, 1 pair of wellies in each size, and a pair of aqua shoes. All bought clearance or almost new second hand. Tho, until she was 2, she generally only had 2 pairs of footwear in each size.

My first stopped wearing sleep suits in the day at maybe 4 months. Youngest at 2 months, because her feet were so big, I had to cut the feet off them 🤣

Minimum 2 more outfits than your washing frequency

We generally have quite a lot but very little bought new. My daughter is tiny and since she was 15 months we have got at least a year out a set of clothes!

When she was a newborn we were doing cloth nappies and for the for 3 months washing 5 times a week. We had 6 sleepsuits, 5 short sleeved vests and 5 long sleeved vests. 2-3 leggings, 2-3t shirts and 2 sets of dungarees and vests.

We now wash once a week (nearly 4y) and for us a minimum would be 10 leggings - mix of thickness, 10-12 T shirts, 10-12 long sleeved shirts, 2-3 jumpers, 2-3 cardigans, 2-3 skirts, 2-3 shorts, 5-6 dress (mix of winter and summer) and 10 sets pjs. We upsize cardigans - so she has some 18-24m cardigans that she has been wearing for 2 and a half years! We merge sizes she is currently in 18-24month clothes but she also has a couple of 12-18month clothes still in use that are big for that size and some of the smaller 2-3 clothes. We size up PJ's too so she has been in 2-3 y pjs since she went up to 18-24 months clothes so we only need to buy half the number of pjs 5 sets in the current size and 5 sets in the next size up

I like to wash once a week and we use nursery so often need to send spare clothes. I would say 8 pairs of shorts, 4 pairs of trousers , 4 long sleeved tops, 2 hoodies and as many t shirts as possible (10 plus)

I think this depends on your washing schedule, if you have a dryer or have to wait for things to air dry, if you have messy eaters or recently potty trained toddlers requiring multiple changes…

I’d personally want everyone to have about a week’s worth of stuff for whatever the weather to feel like I’m not panicking about it but that looks different to different people- if the toddler always needs spare pants packed and is likely to need them, if school age kids need swim kit, ballet uniform, football kit etc.
