I am sick of the bloody things!!!!!!!
ds1 came home from school with them on the 21st december. Did him with mousse and have been combing with conditioner ever since.despite that, found another f*** yesterday and today have found one in my baby's hair!! Feel like crying. He's only 16 months and has that very fine silky blonde hair. Just combed him through, moussed him and washed and conditioned him. Am getting to the end of my tether.
am considering home education and never letting them mix with other kids again.
any tips greatfully recieved.

I use a white plastic 99p one from chemists, with two different sizes of combs on them. Just when you think you've got them all, switch sides and get the little b*ers that think they've got away with it!

Alexsmum - she has had the hv involved on more than 1 occasion to help her with the nits. I did try to speak to her (as I had got loads of useful info from the Head of the School Nursing Service where I work) but in return I got threatened, told it was nothing to do with me, a very nasty letter and she stopped her daughter seeing dh for anything over and above the court order (told me that was my fault - I had spoilt it for them)...... I've never bothered since!

i have the same problem! My dsd had nits 3 weeks ago when she came to us a i treated her and told her mum to do her big sister. She came to us yesterday with her hair hacked short (done by mummy and looked awful) and covered in nits again! Now my ds has them and i fear i may have too! will treat first thing in morning but when i rang her mum to tell her she said I KNOW and said she cant get rid of them! I asked what she had tried and she replied "i combed her hair but cant get the eggs out" I told her i would kill the eggs and get her nit free but theres not much point if she wont treat her big sis and she just said tough, she aint got time or money top get rid of them so tough!!!

Ignorant cow, as if i have the time and money!!!!!

OMG ks I've just seen this
Sorry but I must admit I laughed, but this is one of my worst nightmares. DSs both had headlice in the first half of last year, and I've been itching ever since. I would have died of embarassment.

Bonkerz - is this the same woman?! Dsd's mother has shaved dsd's head when she was younger to get rid of the nits. Dsd has 3 other siblings at home, so even when we have her for a week and get rid of them, as soon as she goes home she gets them again. BMs latest brainwave for getting rid of the nits is using straighteners.

s8urfermum,it's really puzzling me why they are such a nitty family?? why doesn't she just treat all of them on the same days ? she sounds completely bonkers!

She's a total mystery to me! I think they are probably constantly passing them on to each other. She says she doesn't want to use chemicals as it will give them brain damage.

mistletoe · 05/01/2005 09:51

Hmmm, sounds like they might inherit brain damage from their mother

janis · 09/01/2005 15:37

Yes they are a problem! If you look at the great little trading company on the internet they have a shampoo for nits - I have tried it give it a go it works!
